About the Age Calculator

The Age Calculator turns a birth date into an exact age — years, months, and days — using real calendar arithmetic, not day-count approximations. It also shows the totals (days, weeks, months, hours lived), counts down to the next birthday, and lets you set any target date, so you can compute an age as of a form's deadline, a school cut-off, or a date in the past. Dates are handled in your local timezone, and Feb-29 birthdays are correctly celebrated on Feb 28 in non-leap years. Everything runs in your browser.

How to use the Age Calculator

  1. 1Enter the birth date.
  2. 2Leave the target date as today, or change it to compute the age at any other date.
  3. 3Read the exact age in years, months, and days.
  4. 4Check the totals — days, weeks, months, and hours — and the days remaining until the next birthday.
  5. 5Copy the result with one click if you need to paste it elsewhere.

Common use cases

  • Filling government or visa forms that ask for age in completed years
  • Checking a child's exact age for a school admission cut-off date
  • HR verifying an applicant's age as of a joining or eligibility date
  • Finding how many days remain until a birthday
  • Curiosity: total days, weeks, or hours you've been alive

Frequently asked questions

How is exact age calculated?

By real calendar arithmetic: the calculator subtracts the birth date from the target date year-by-year, month-by-month, and day-by-day, borrowing from the previous month or year exactly the way a human would — using each month's true length. It never divides a day count by 30 or 365, which is how approximate calculators drift.

Can I calculate age at a date other than today?

Yes. The target-date field defaults to today but accepts any date — set it to a school admission cut-off, an application deadline, or a historical date, and the tool reports the exact age on that day, plus the same totals.

What happens if the birthday is February 29?

In non-leap years the next-birthday countdown treats the birthday as February 28 — the common civil convention — rather than silently rolling it over to March 1. In leap years the true February 29 date is used.

Is my birth date uploaded anywhere?

No. The calculator runs 100% in your browser — the dates you enter are processed locally and never sent to a server, stored, or tracked.

Is it free?

Yes — free, no sign-up, no limits, like every tool on this site.
